STEADY STATE LONG RUN - CHICAGO DRESS REHEARSAL

I did the Top of Utah Marathon this morning for my final steady-state long run. The plan was to run 5:45-ish pace. I ran 2:32:09 or 5:48/mile with one quick, potty break. The weather was great and organization of the race is first class. Three more weeks.

Way to stick to plan and for the win! Hopefully the dress rehearsal test items worked out okay.

Thanks guys. I did fail in one aspect and that was I packed three Gu gels with me and didn't take a single one!

I was supposed to practice that, but just didn't want...haha.

I also over-hydrated and hence the quick potty break to whiz during mile 10. I could also hear sloshing in my stomach first 10 miles. So, at Chicago I will drink very little morning of if I properly hydrated the day before. But no stomach issues, so food digested well.

The Muccinex worked somewhat well. I still had a huge buildup and was gagging/dry heaving during mile 25 but was able to finally clear it. In the past I haven't been able to clear it while running, so it helped a little bit.
