50 minutes on the bike at the gym. I tried to get my heart rate up, but my legs get tired out a lot more quickly than my heart rate elevates when I bike.  My legs will be burning from going fast but my heart rate stays down in the 120s.  I guess I just need to get the legs more accustomed to biking.  I ended with 12 minutes of abs.  I will not attempt a run today in hopes of getting over this knee pain that's been nagging me since UVM.  Legs aren't sore from Ragnar, which is a plus.  I just got to get this knee feeling better and I'll be good to go again.

It takes me a few spin classes or hard rides on my road bike to get my quads accustomed to it. Is the knee issue related to the IT band?

you are riley cook and i am Ben van Beekum trying to be like riley cook! I am so sore! My hamstrings have never been so tight in my life. I took the day off also. Get that knee better we have a long summer of racing ahead of us.

Fritz: I don't think it's related to the IT band. Since UVM, it's been hurting on the inside of the knee. I'm confident it's from the upper legs muscles cramping up and causing it to inflame (or at least I'm hoping) and that it just needs a bit of time (which I haven't given it by running Ragnar).

Ben: I may not be very sore, but I also didn't have a crazy downhill leg like you. I get a lot more sore from steep downhill than steep uphill. I'm going to give the knee at least one more off day, that'll be three days in a row. Hopefully that will help out.
