No run. My knee hurts, but not at all where it was hurting before. It's in a completely new area and it feels like I twisted/sprained it or something. I do remember a step on the run yesterday where it kind of gave out a little and I stumbled a bit. I wonder if that is the cause. It was a half mile later that I couldn't run on it anymore. Hmmm. Anyway, letting it rest/heal today and maybe tomorrow.

It's prob getting close to a time where you should get a definitive diagnosis from an orthopedist or a PT. That might accelerate your recovery just knowing exactly what is going on with your knee. That way you'll know how to most efficiently wrap up your prep for Boston. Just an opinion....

Probe around the quad on the affected side and see if there is any tension. If there is stretch/massage it out. Once you can run, keep the pace slow and the surface soft. Be patient.

You can think of it like this - you have the muscle power of a sub-4:00 miler in the infrastructure of a 2:21 marathoner (rather than 2:06). Until the infrastructure (bones, joints, ligaments, and whatever else is there) catches up, the muscles will keep tearing at it unless properly restrained. It is just a matter of patience.
