10 miles easy with Ken and Bret on the parkway.  I thought maybe I was completely out of the woods with my knee this morning.  When I woke up I could bend my knee 100% without any pain or discomfort.  But once I got running I could barely notice it again.  So, still not completely gone.  I will have to remain cautious this week.  I think SLC Half is slipping away, it's looking like it may just be a workout now instead of a race.  I had it marked as a race I really wanted to run well at and PR, but what can you do?

They can certainly change quickly (as can the shape of my gut unfortunately).

I knew when my knee started to hurt that my fitness was going to drop quite a bit, and that's why I still went ahead with Strider's Half. I had worked hard and wanted to get at least one fast race out of it!

Hopefully we'll both be back in top form by summertime!

You've got some big ones on the schedule (esp if you are still planning to run Ogden / Duluth) - don't throw those away for something that it the grand scheme of things, doesn't really matter. If you go run 64:XX at the US half champs, no one will remember if you ran 62, 72, or 92 minutes at the SLC 1/2 :-)

Too much injury carnage on the blog recently - don't be the next one!

And for the record, I'm impressed you've even taken some days off. Smart, obviously, and the right thing to do... but not very FRB-like :-)

In truth I was much better at skipping days when I was injured before joining the blog! haha.

But I am being very careful with it. It sucks to be rolling fitness-wise and then have to lay off, but long-term it's the right thing to do.

I am debating whether to take more time off this week. It's tough, because it doesn't hurt at all anymore and it doesn't bother me or impede my running. But, I can still "feel" it; I know it's not 100% gone.

But you wonder "well can I train easy and it will go away or do I need to lay completely off it a bit longer?" Hard to say. Today was the best it's been in two weeks though and I did run three consecutive days last week before taking yesterday off. So we'll see. I won't run/train at all though if it gets worse.
