9.07 miles easy.  I met Bryant and Ken to run an easy run this morning.  My knee is holding up ok, but I didn't feel comfortable pushing it much further than this.  I think with taking tomorrow off it may be ready for normal training next week; I hope so at least.  If I can get a regular week of training in, I may still race SLC next weekend.  If not, I may just use the race as a hard effort.  It all depends on how my knee holds up.  I feel like I've lost a lot of fitness, but hopefully I can get some of it back next week.

sorry to hear the knee is still acting up. My knee started hurting in late February and rather than laying off it I continued running as much as it would let me because I still wanted to run Boston. But then two weeks ago it completely broke down and now I won't be running Boston and if I don't start seeing improvements soon I may miss a bunch more races this spring, including Ogden. I guess all I am saying is that it's probably more wise to miss one race, especially if it isn't a big race, to allow yourself to heal and to race the rest of the season.

Just my two cents. You know your body best.

Yeah Fritz I know this has been a frustrating year for you with your knee.

I am being pretty conservative with it (minus the race last Saturday). I skipped the first half of this week even though it wasn't really painful, but I could still feel it and knew it wasn't ready. If it hurts ever or even if I feel some discomfort I will back it off and take another day off. Tomorrow off should really help out.

Today I noticed it, but it never approached pain or discomfort.

Thanks for the advice though, I will certainly try to play it safe.

I am sure you are smarter than me but I do feel somewhat obligated to share the little wisdom I have gained through trial and error :)
